NOTES & REFERENCES

Wiki

Interesting topics I’ve explored over the years: audio DSP building blocks with interactive plots, and modern C++ techniques.

Audio
  • Circular Buffers – A fixed-size, thread-safe ring buffer for real-time producers and consumers, with a full C++ implementation.
  • Digital Biquad Filters – Second-order recursive filters: the transfer function, the difference equation, and why they get cascaded.

Biquad filter types

Each page has a live frequency-response plot

  • Low Pass – Passes below the cutoff, attenuates above it.
  • High Pass – Passes above the cutoff, attenuates below it.
  • Band Pass – Passes a band around a center frequency.
  • Notch – Rejects a narrow band around a center frequency.
  • All Pass – Flat magnitude, frequency-dependent phase shift.
  • Peaking EQ – Boosts or cuts a band around a center frequency.
  • Low Shelf – Boosts or cuts everything below the cutoff.
  • High Shelf – Boosts or cuts everything above the cutoff.

C++
  • Concepts (C++20) – Compile-time constraints on template parameters, and how they replace SFINAE boilerplate.
